  • The Dangers of Consensus Science
Benny Peiser, originally in the National Post (Canada), May 17, 2005
Peiser (homepage http://www.staff.livjm.ac.uk/spsbpeis/) is a social anthropologist at John Moores University in Liverpool, UK. Counters claim by Naomi Oreskes in Science 2004 that there is unanimous "scientific consensus" on anthropogenic causes of recent global warming. Science refused to publish Peiser's response on grounds that his points had been "widely dispersed on the internet." Nature also refused to publish.

See also his "Update: The Oreskes abstracts" at http://www.staff.livjm.ac.uk/spsbpeis/Oreskes-abstracts.htm Peiser has posted all documents and abstracts listed in the ISI database under the key words “global climate change” (for the period 1993 – 2003) so that you can check for yourself.
